Set up camp at the picturesque Pont Resort in Port Edward before venturing into the heart of Transkei, where you’ll explore ancient fossils, mysterious beach caves, authentic local homesteads, the renowned Red Desert, and the awe-inspiring Umtamvuna Nature Reserve.

- Return transport for Hike 1 (Wild Coast Sun to Pont)
Hikes Overview:
- Transkei Day Trip – Approx. 15km | Grade 3 (distance & beach walking)
- Duration: 9 hours (including transport)
- Umtamvuna Nature Reserve – Approx. 8km | Grade 2-3
- Duration: 3-4 hours
- Mini Red Desert – 3km | Grade 1
- Duration: 1 hour
Note: Moderate fitness is required for Hikes 1 and 2. No beginners or casual hikers allowed!
What to Bring:
For the hikes:
- Snacks, water, or cold drinks
- A cap, backpack, and camera/phone
- Hiking boots with good grip
- Water shoes for river crossings (and a small towel)
For camping:
- All your camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, mattress, lights, etc.)
- Your own food and drinks
- Fishing gear (optional for river fishing)

Important Info:
- Only 12 spaces available!
- We need 8 confirmed bookings to proceed. If the quota isn’t met, the event will be cancelled, and refunds will be processed.
- No refunds or credits for ‘no-shows’.
- If the event is cancelled due to bad weather, it will be rescheduled or credit will be provided.

- Grade 1: Easy. Minimal fitness required
- Grade 2: Moderate fitness needed

- Grade 5: Very strenuous. High level of fitness essential
