Our client, a leader in sustainability and climate action strategy development and implementation, is seeking a Sustainability Senior Consultant to join their dynamic team. They partner with leading organizations to drive impactful sustainability initiatives, providing comprehensive solutions that address key sustainability challenges.

As a Sustainability Senior Consultant, you will craft and execute detailed sustainability strategies, perform in-depth materiality assessments to identify critical sustainability issues, and build strategic partnerships. You will also represent our client at various forums and contribute to thought leadership articles, showcasing the innovative approaches and successes of our client’s sustainability efforts.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in sustainability consulting, with extensive knowledge of sustainability and climate change. You should be well-versed in JSE Sustainability and Climate Change Disclosure Guidance and committed to exceeding client expectations by delivering high-quality results.

Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in chemical engineering, CA(SA), or Bachelor’s/Master’s in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or Climate Change.
Top academic results throughout your studies.
Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainability consulting.
Extensive knowledge of sustainability and climate change.
Proficiency in English, with strong communication skills.
Knowledge of JSE Sustainability and Climate Change Disclosure Guidance, IFRS S1, S2, and S3 standards, Carbon Footprinting, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), Carbon Disclosure Programme (CDP), and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and SBTi.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement sustainability strategies for clients.
Perform materiality assessments and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Economic, Environmental, Social, and Governance (EESG) goals.
Oversee the collection and integrity of data for KPIs.
Provide input into the development of the company Sustainability Management Solution.
Implement Sustainability Management Solution at client sites, requiring strong project management skills.
Oversee the development and implementation of the Learning Platform at client sites.
Develop partnerships, strategic alliances, and associations
Assist in day-to-day operations, contributing to the planning and execution of projects.
Research, interpret, and analyze sustainability trends and standards.
Perform benchmarking and follow policy and regulatory developments, translating their impact
Speak at youth forums on sustainability and contribute to thought leadership articles.
Assist in writing sustainability, climate action, and integrated reports for clients.
